Resumen


El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la relación entre la presencia de usuarios de X y emisión de posts en la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México (ZMVM) con la centralidad de comercio asociado a gentrificación comercial. Lo anterior se hace con fuentes de datos novedosas como es el caso de X. La investigación se enmarca en un creciente interés por el proceso de gentrificación desde una perspectiva económica que transforma los espacios urbanos desplazando actividades tradicionales por actividades de comercio vinculadas a consumo sunturario y de entretenimiento, tales como restaurantes, boutiques, galerias entre otros.  Al mismo tiempo, propone una fuente de datos no tradicional para la medición de procesos urbanos como los datos provenientes de Internet, fuentes de datos que siguen en exploración por parte de la geografía. Como principales hallazgos de la investigación se identifica que se tiene asocia la presencia de usuarios de X en barrios con tasas de crecimiento medio de comercio gentrificado en la ZMVM en zonas adyacentes a las clásicas áreas identificadas como gentrificadas. Adicionalmente, se identifican aquellos barrios donde se tiene alta presencia de usuarios de X y una tasa de crecimiento importante de comercio en zonas periféricas en la ZMVM, lo que apunta a barrios en transición en el proceso de gentrificación contemporáneo.
