The study about the mountains of Avila outlines an integral diagnosis of the mountain areas for, next, to indicate some performance proposals. Of the analysis of the main physical and socioeconomic variables it is deduced on one hand that the natural values are a resource for the district and, on the other hand that as much the demographic exodus as the abandonment of the economic activities have taken to a territorial separation and a deterioration in the benefit of services. At the present time the cattle raising and the tourism are profiled as the two bets of more future. The analysis DAFO and the axes and measures picked up in the Plan of Performance of Outlying Areas of Castile and León serve as base for our final conclusion on challenges and opportunities. The territorial intervention and the reinforcement of the some local enters are some of the actions foreseen to overcome the structural weaknesses of the districts of mountain abulenses.
