Competition between stockbreeding and turistic activity has been studied in the Higt Esera Valley (Pyrenees of Aragon). Both sectors compete for the labour market and for the use of the most productive spaces (cultivated meadows). On the one hand, we can observe that there is a transfer of working population from the primary sector to the turistic activity and, on the other hand, that turistic infraestructuras invade the fields. Both factors contribute to the decay of farms and livestock census and also to the increase of an extensive use of the territory.
