Abstract

This paper reviews one of the most common methodology of climatic regionalization, by combinig a reduction method, the Principal Components Analysis, and a classification method, the Cluster Analysis, applied to a specific area of the Iberian Péninsule. Results show that the dynamical behavior of the atmosphere in this area can be reduced to three components, named Atlantic, Cantabric and Continental, which combinad provide us a division in three larga areas, 8 subareas and 24 sectors.
