The article analyzes the evolution of the Spanish Geography up to the Civil War. It stresses Geography's predominance outside the University in High Schools and Teacher Training Schools. The article refers to personalities which were exilied in Latin America. Goegraphy's publishing contribution and the role played by the Real Sociedad Geográfica (Royal Geographic Society) are also mentioned.
