The purpose of this article is to reflect on the methodology used from Geography to research on women and rural society in Europe and Spain. First of all, we underline the importance of feminist theory, second, we analize the relationship among the research subjects, paradigms and methodologies used in the evolution of rural women studies, and finally, we assess the possibilities and difficulties of qualitative and quantitative methods to these investigations.
