Abstract

The main objective of this report is to analyse the population distribution, urbanization process and settlement system of less urbanized Latin American and Caribbean countries. The first thing, and as so an introduction, it explains the urbanization process of the whole region in the world-wide context from 1955 to 2025, thus as a populational evolution tipology of all Latin American countries from 1950 to current census. The third part, the more extensive one, is about the poblacional problem of less urbanized countries of the region in two periods: 1970-1975 and 1990-1995.
