The paper addresses the conceptual and methodological sides of the analysis of ethnic economies in the old districts of European towns. The case of Lavapiés is addressed, as a prototypical zone. Still, ethnic business is hard to unravel completely. Then, the authors announce later releases on the same topic and area.
