This work compares three spatial interpolation methods which are available into inexpensive and accessible GIS programs. The lowest mean quadratic error and highest quality MDT is provided by the kriging procedure. The three methods have been tested with the data of a region of the Tuy watershed river at Venezuela. The starting data are digitalized contours of a map (scale 1:100.000).
