The question of industrial location is often associated to the search for a concrete region and for a location within this region. In this article, we analyse the reasons to select the Madrid's region. The second question is related to the different productive locations which define a typology based on industrial areas or in technological parks within Madrid. The analysis focuses on a sector, the electronic industry, which has experienced an importât development in Madrid throughout the 1980. However, with the crisis, the number of jobs and, to some extent, the number of plants has declined. The telecommunication subsector is deñned as a factor of growth and as a necessary infrastructure in order to develop the region.
