Abstract

The reform of the provincial division in Castile and Leon, in the liberal revolution. The present provincial division of Spain was born in the political change that happened ali along the first half of the 19th century. As result of this complex process, the boundaries of Castile and Leon provinces were thoroughly modified. Nevertheless, there was not any change neither in the number ofprovinces nor in their chieftowns, except for the early union of Toro with Zamora.
