All along the XIXth century of the property of land in Majadahonda (Madrid) took place. On the first case the Espartero and Madoz's alienated measures bore upon, so that 17% ofthe municipal land was sold. The land ofthe church was purchased by only a few buyers, nevertheless there were many who bought the municipal landa. Secondlymany plots of free lands were sold. Among the buyers of both the alienated and the free land, we must point out the presence of gentry men, burgeois, civil servants, speculators, people from Madrid and many local peasants. This selling procedure was followed to benefit the medium sized property, many which got increased into big properties. The area ofthe average plots changed from 1863 to 1893, from the 69% to the 53%, while the area of the big plots increased from the 17% to the 31 % of the whole municipal land.
