Abstract

This paper analyses the recent urban politics of the city of Barcelona, bearing in mind the physical and political background. The main goal of this analysis isthe process of internalisation of the city as well as its aims and effects. The conclusions point out sorne problems related with the political organization and social cohesion that will deeply concern the future of cities.
