The deterioration of the environment that show vast areas of land in Patagonia are due to the process of soil erosion. This has been increased since the beginning of the century by the ovine monoproduction that tends to overestimate the receptivity of grazing and hence the loss of its rentability. The phenomena of the Province of Santa Crnz is annlized in this paper.
