Emplazamientos urbanos en zonas de riesgos naturales: El caso del Gran Resistencia en la planicie chaqueña

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to give information and some reflexions about the natural risks that endanger the life and the material goods of communities located on sites threatened by these unpredictable, phenomena. Like many others riverside urban settlements, the Great Resistencia metropolitan areaa is affected by the extraordinary floods of the Parana River. Is sipte of the recurrence of this type of flood along the present century, no one of these urban areas have undertaken the construction of defensive infraestructures to prevent the water entrance into the urban enclosure. Instead, to face the emergency, they were buit provisional and pnrtial works.
