Abstract

Variability ofrainfall in the peninsula of Baja California. The aridity and the high variability of rainfall in the península of Baja California are factors that make interesting the analysis of the extreme values ofrainfall as well as ofits intensity. The probable maximum and mínimum values of the annual precipitation, of the d1;est and the most hurnid months are estimated and the maximum rainfall intensity is treated by means of the maximum annual values for the durations of 5 and 60 minutes and the expected values for the durations of 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 and 120 minutes in the return pe1;ods of 10, 25, 50 and 100 years. Finaly a series of considerations is made in relation to the observed results.
