A spectacular development of cattle-rising has hnppened during tha last decades in Catalonia, due to the wide use of industrialized methods. The porcine sector because its special features, is a primordial element in this positive evolution, heading the economy of this spanish Region. The straight integration phenomenon has contributed to the expansion of this cattle-rising profit, and at the same time is the basis for a productive complex with indubitable repercussion on hoggish production and in the familiar farm exploitation in Catalonia.
