Abstract

An economic approach to the explanation of some contemporary migrations. The spanish case. This paper addresses first, from the Introduction to the section on Labor Markets, the general economic theory of contemporary migrations -especially, international migrations.- The second part focuses on late migrations to Spain, mainly from Morocco. A first attempt is taken to assess Moroccan remittances from Spain in the nineties. Finally, the main lines of Spain's recent migration policies are discussed. A set of conclusions and assertions ends the paper.
